- 90 Minute Couples Sessions are $150
Note that 60 minute and 90 minute sessions are available at a 20% discount when they are booked in a 4 session bundle.
Where are the meetings held?
Meetings are held securely in a private Zoom conference.
Do you take insurance?
I do not take insurance since what I offer is not *therapy* as recognized by insurers but rather it is a coaching style that uses the tools as taught in Relational Life Therapy.
How long is your program?
I don’t have a program per se. Each of us is a unique individual. As we are learning a new language– with ourselves and others– so YMMV. When we learn a new language, we get better the more we use it. How quickly we learn and how much we practice is up to each of us. My goal is to give you new skills in weekly or bi-weekly visits for a limited time, and then move into a more spaced out scheduling for check-ins and as needed guidance.
The bottom-line of this style of *counseling* is that the goal is to actually make progress every week. With the integration of new tools and strategies you can begin to see results very quickly.
What are your policies on cancellations or rescheduling appointments?
When you schedule your appointments using my online booking system you will have access to your own dashboard where you can reschedule a booked meeting, schedule meetings that you have purchased as part of a discounted package, and cancel meetings that you can then reschedule yourself at a later date. I allow changes to a previously booked meeting with 24 hours notice.
How is this different from traditional therapy?
There are some key differences that most clients find to be refreshing.
-
- Traditional talk therapists may present themselves as experts in their fields, while relational life therapists speak as imperfect people who are themselves in recovery.
-
- Traditional talk therapists tend not to directly address behaviors. Relational life therapists address issues and behaviors in a clear and direct way, without shaming the person seeking help.
-
- Frequently, traditional talk therapists encourage people in their care to develop insight, but relational life therapists also encourage people in their care to take decisive action and may, in fact, emphasize action. There are far more actionable recommendations and more accountability with RLT.
-
- A traditional therapist may choose not to confront people in treatment for fear these people may leave therapy. Relational life therapists will typically take an unbiased approach and often be quite direct in holding clients accountable.
-
- Traditional psychotherapists may try to help ease disruptive individuals into therapy or attempt to make therapy more palatable/acceptable for disruptive people. A relational life therapist may instead make therapy as uncomfortable as possible for people who persist in disruptive behavior.
