I’m Melody, I am 53 years old and I’ve been married for over 25 years to my husband Tommy, and we are the proud parents of our two sons, ages 26 and 18. We are both from New Orleans originally and have lived in the Asheville area for over 23 years. We have a hard-earned deep love and respect for one another and each day presents challenges that we work our way through to live more in harmony.
My greatest passion in life has been to help others and myself achieve peace in their most important relationships. To be honest I wasn’t great at it, but now, I get better at it every day. I practice every day. We are all in a constant state of harmony, disharmony and repair in our relationships. Where most of us fall short is in knowing and using the skills necessary to complete the cycle. We live in a culture that rarely encourages repair. So much in our culture is disposable and I think we tend to get that way with difficult relationships as well. It is not uncommon to wonder when we are in disharmony so often if we should even bother trying anymore. Repair can be hard sometimes. It takes skills, honesty, courage and compassion. But as the old adage goes…noting worth having comes easy.
